Just another Rainbow Christian's Blog

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”—Anais Nin

People “come out” all the time; and the coming out issues are just as diverse as the people navigating these coming out processes. Regardless of the issue at hand, most everyone who ventures out of their “buds” reports how much freer they feel than before taking the risk to blossom.
Sure, it’s often warmer—and maybe even safer, sometimes—in the bud. At the same time, it is very dark; and it is often lonely, because we don’t make room for others in those buds. We can’t stretch when we are cramped in those tight buds.
To grow and flourish, the human spirit requires light and air. So, the next time we are feeling a bit cramped spiritually, why not take the risk to break free of the bud—to blossom and grow in the light and fresh air of God’s love?

“You can look at a slum or a peasant village, but it is only by entering into the world — by living in it — that you begin to understand what it is like to be powerless, to be like Christ.”
– Penny Lernou

In many parts of the world the people are searching for a solution which would link the two basic values: peace and justice. The two are like bread and salt for mankind.
